This Privacy Policy explains how Stockout ("Stockout", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Stockout apps (Windows and Android) and website at stockoutinventory.com (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
We do not exchange your personal information for money, and we never hand your account or inventory data to advertisers. We do load Google Analytics and Google Ads tags on every page of this site except the web app, and once you accept advertising storage those tags can set and read cookies that identify your browser to Google across sites. Some US state privacy laws define "selling" or "sharing" broadly enough to cover that kind of advertising transfer, so instead of making a legal claim about it, here is exactly what happens and how to stop it: those tags start in a denied state (we set Google's ad storage, ad user data, ad personalization and analytics storage to "denied" before the Google tag loads), so they set no analytics or advertising cookies and build no cross-site advertising profile unless you accept them — and you can withdraw that acceptance at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of this page. Even while denied, the Google tag still contacts Google and so reveals your IP address and browser details; what the tags receive is described under "Analytics and advertising" below. We otherwise share data only with service providers who help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it:
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
This section is about the website at stockoutinventory.com. Our own code does not set cookies, but it does keep some data in your browser, and the third-party scripts we load on every page except the web app do set cookies.
Some of that storage is strictly necessary and is not offered as a choice. Once you sign in, the tokens that keep you signed in are held in your browser's local storage. In the web app, a random per-browser identifier is also stored, so we can enforce your plan's device limit. Turning these off would break sign-in. If you sign up or sign in using Google, we briefly hold the details you entered — such as your team name and the plan you picked — in your browser so they survive the redirect to Google and back. Our consent tool also records your cookie choice, in your browser and on its own servers, so you are not asked again on every page.
The optional storage is analytics and advertising. We use CookieHub to show the consent banner and to record what you choose; analytics and advertising storage starts out denied. To change or withdraw your choice later, use the Cookie settings link in the footer of this page, which reopens the consent dialog with your current choice loaded. You can also clear cookies and site data for stockoutinventory.com in your browser, which makes the banner ask again.
The web app itself loads no analytics or advertising tags and shows no consent banner. The browser storage it uses is your sign-in session, the settings and bookmark lists you create in the app, and small bits of interface state such as a notice you have dismissed. Those settings can include the company name and notification email addresses you enter in Settings. It does still load fonts and code libraries from Google Fonts and jsDelivr.
On every page of this site except the web app, we load a Google tracking script (Google calls it the "Google tag"). It serves two Google products: Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads (measurement IDs G-RBNN8KRWV8 and AW-18306739114).
Google Analytics tells us which pages were viewed, roughly how visitors arrive (for example from a search engine, another site, or one of our ads), and aggregate usage across visits. We use it to work out which pages are useful and which are not, not to identify you. The Google Ads tag lets us measure how our advertising performs. Data these tags collect goes to Google as a third party and is handled under Google's own terms. How long Google keeps that data is governed by Google's own settings and policies, and deleting your Stockout account does not erase it.
Advertising and analytics storage is set to denied by default on every one of these pages, and stays denied unless you accept in the consent banner. The script file itself is still requested from Google either way, so Google receives the technical details of that request, such as your IP address and browser. Your choice controls whether advertising and analytics data may then be stored and used.
You can read Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services, manage ad personalization at Google's My Ad Center, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your team's data is restricted by row-level security so only your team can read it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
We keep your data while your account is active. You can edit or delete inventory data in the app at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at support@stockoutinventory.com and we will process your request. You can cancel your subscription anytime from the billing portal.
Stockout is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this processing.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date.
