This Privacy Policy explains how Stockout ("Stockout", "we", "us") collects,
uses, and protects information when you use the Stockout apps (Windows and Android) and website
at stockoutinventory.com (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, password (stored hashed by our
authentication provider), and the business/team name you provide when signing up. If you sign
in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile from Google.
- Inventory data you create — items, kits, equipment, checklists, locations,
labels, stock movements, and related notes you enter to run your inventory.
- Team & device data — team members you invite (their email and role) and
a per-device identifier we use to enforce your plan's device limit.
- Billing information — subscriptions are processed by Stripe.
We do not collect or store your card number; Stripe handles payment data. We
keep your plan status, device cap, and subscription period.
- Device permissions — with your consent, the app uses your device
camera (to scan barcodes) and NFC (to read/write RFID tags).
These are used on-device for scanning only; we do not collect camera images or continuous NFC data.
How we use your information
- To provide and sync the Service across your devices and team.
- To create and manage your account and team, and enforce your plan's device limit.
- To process subscriptions and send service and billing communications.
- To send notifications and reports you enable (for example, low-stock or email alerts).
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service
providers who help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it:
- Supabase — cloud database, authentication, and sync (stores your account and inventory data).
- Stripe — subscription payments and billing.
- Google — optional "Sign in with Google".
- An email delivery provider — to send reports, alerts, and support messages you request.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Data security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your team's data is restricted by
row-level security so only your team can read it. No method of transmission or storage is 100%
secure, but we work to protect your information.
Data retention & your choices
We keep your data while your account is active. You can edit or delete inventory data in the
app at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at
support@stockoutinventory.com and we will
process your request. You can cancel your subscription anytime from the billing portal.
Children
Stockout is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect information from them.
International users
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service
providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an
updated "Last updated" date.
